My First Ever Blog

Published by pcameron at 7:36 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Wow. How things change in life. If you would have asked me 6 months ago if I ever thought I’d one day be blogging to make money, I’d have told you no way. After all I had a good job as a writer for a local ad agency. I made a healthy salary. Why in the world would I start blogging for money? Heck, when I was employed, the idea of writing anything that wasn’t for my job was unappetizing enough. It’s been five months since I lost my job and this economy is doing its best to keep me unemployed. So I’ve resorted to doing whatever I have to in order to make money. Whether blogging will become a source of revenue for me is still to be seen. But whatever. It’s good practice and gives me a forum to vent in. When you sign up as a blogger at today.com, they ask you what you’d like to blog about. For some reason, the thought of blogging about the unexplained came immediately to mind. When I was employed, I’d spend hours at my computer avoiding work. One of the things I did for entertainment was visit a lot of sites that had to deal with the unexplained things in this world. Really, it started as a fascination with UFOs. Slowly it mutated to include things like ghosts and bigfoot and sea monsters. I figure that over the years, I’ve logged hundreds, if not thousands, of hours gleening sites like cryptomundo.com, coasttocoastam.com, etc. So many sites I can’t remember them all. So, I think that’s where I’ll start with this whole blogging thing…talking about all the things that, whether they exist or not, are a part of culture. This being my first blog, and really not having that much of an interest in seeing how others do it, I’m at a loss as to what to do next. Do I ask for input/commentary? Do I just go about my business and see what happens? I guess that’s what I’ll do. If you want to write something or read more or whatever, I’ll start my monster/ghost/UFO discussion later this week, or today. Depends on how much I have to do. And if anyone out there is in search of a really talented copywriter, I happen to know one.
